Zomacton (Somatropin) is an injectable form of human growth hormone – an essential hormone for the growth and development of muscles, bones, and other vital parts of the body.

The drug is a 5mg white to off-white powder and diluted to a 5 ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride for injection. It is administered through subcutaneous injection on either of the following routes:

  • Upper arm
  • Abdomen
  • Buttock
  • Thigh

Uses of Zomacton

Zomacton, although safe to use but with doctor’s prescription, is not medically recommended to individuals who does not have health conditions as follows:

  • Growth hormone deficiency – naturally deficient in the production of growth hormone.
  • Turner syndrome
  • Short stature homeobox-containing gene (SHOX) deficiency
  • Small size at birth
  • Idiopathic short stature
  • Trauma affecting the production of growth hormone

Zomacton is used as a substitute for growth hormone. Using it for the purpose of muscle growth and as an anti-aging product is highly prohibited because not only it has a huge influence on growth and metabolism; it has effects on several health conditions too, leading to severe health issues. How to use Zomacton?

What will you do if you miss a dose?

Do not double the doses if you missed one. Instead, take your next dose the next day. However, if you missed three or more doses, consecutively, you need to consult your doctor.

How to store Zomacton:

Storing Zomacton requires basic knowledge of the drug. Vials of Zomacton should be stored in a cool storage place with 36 F – 46 F (2 – 8 degree-Celcius) before and after it is diluted to a 0.9 % saline solution. Plus, the reconstituted medication should get frozen.

Zomacton of 5 mg will remain stable for 14 days after reconstituted with bacteriostatic 0.9 percent sodium chloride at 36 F – 46 F; and 28 days of stability for 10 mg of Zomacton after being reconstituted.
